In this modern age it is still quite surprising that landlines are still used in quite high volumes for making phonecalls. Although the mobile phone is quite widely used, many people still have a landline in their house and prefer to use it for making the likes of international calls.
The main reason for the landline still being a prominent feature in many people's lives is the cost. Mobile phone providers can charge the earth for calling abroad and so the landline is the next best option. Or is it?
The internet, by design, is a great asset to many businesses and individuals for many reasons; yet many have not yet thought about using it for phonecalls. The fact of the matter is it is just as cheap, if not cheaper, to use an Internet Phone Service to make calls anywhere in the world as it is on a traditional landline.
All you really need to be able to make calls to anywhere in the world at a relatively small cost is a good Broadband connection, a VoIP adaptor available from your internet provider and a good headset or microphone.
Once you have these items then you are more or less good to go. And for those who are worried that it is difficult to use, an internet phone service is no more complicated than sending a text from a mobile or dialling a long international number on an ordinary phone!
